Modifying Your Event


Here, we break down the event designer bit by bit to learn exactly what you can do to make the most of your events on TicketSource.


Here's what you'll learn in this article:




 


Event Name


This text box is where the name of the event is entered. The Event Name can be searched by customers in our  What's On   pages and appears on customer tickets and email correspondence. This option is required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the  Event   column press  Modify .

Event Reference Number


This text box is where an event reference is entered. Event References are used to differentiate between events on financial reports. Event References are only visible to account holders on the Sales Report. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the  Event   column press  Modify .

Event Description


This text box is where a description of the event can be entered. The event description can be customised with different font types, sizes and colours, and can have images added to. This is visible before customers purchase tickets on the events page. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the  Event   column press  Modify .

Event Category



These dropdowns are where a Category and an associated Genre are chosen. This helps categorise the event for our search functions. Once a Category has been selected, the Genre drop-down will have the relevant options to be selected from. This option is required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the  Event   column press  Modify .

Hide your Event from the Public



This checkbox determines options for showing events on public sales pages. If the box is unchecked it means the event is shown on public pages and on TicketSource events pages, checked means that the event is hidden and can only be accessed by the direct link. To view this direct link, go to  Events  and select  Publicise Event  . This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the  Event   column press  Modify  , then select the  Advanced Settings   tab.

Event Conditions or Comments



This text box allows the user to enter any comments or conditions which are specific to the event. The comments entered will appear underneath the event name on all public facing sales pages, and is useful for age-restricted events. For event Terms and Conditions, use the section below. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the  Event   column press  Modify  , then select the  Advanced Settings  tab.

Capturing Contact Details


This section is a multiple choice area allowing the choice to either capture all attendees contact details or only the lead bookers. Helpful for business events and Santa's grottos. If the option to collect all attendees contact details is selected, then further options become available to capture each attendee's company/organisation, position/job title and email address. Leaving all the extra options blank will just collect the attendee's Name and Telephone Numbers. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the  Event   column press  Modify  , then select the  Advanced Settings   tab.

'Ticket' Description


This drop-down determines whether Tickets, Passes or Places are more applicable for your event. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the  Event   column press  Modify  , then select the  Advanced Settings   tab.

'Doors Open' Description


This drop-down determines whether Doors Open, Registration, Admission Time or Admission From is more applicable for your event. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the  Event   column press  Modify  , then select the  Advanced Settings   tab.

'Section' Description


This drop-down determines whether Area, Category, Section or Zone is more applicable for your event. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the Event column press Modify, then select the Advanced Settings tab.

Restrict Ticket Sales per Customer


This section includes a checkbox and if selected a text box will appear for validation. Check the box to restrict all ticket sales, and then choose what maximum amount of tickets are available to buy. Every customer booking will be checked against your TicketSource database to see if they have made a booking previously. If they have already bought their allocation of tickets then they will be unable to buy their tickets. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the Event column press Modify, then select the Advanced Settings tab.

Password Protect your Event


This section includes a checkbox and if selected a text box will appear for validation. Check the box to ensure all customers buying online can only purchase tickets if they have the correct password. This is great for ticket presales, members sales or private functions. Customers will be asked to enter the password before they can purchase their tickets. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the Event column press Modify, then select the Advanced Settings tab.

Third Party Marketing Consent



This section includes a checkbox and if selected a text box will appear for validation. Check the box to enter any Third Party Marketing consent details which may need to be added to the event. This option is not required. This information will then be shown to customers before the payment page. Customers will have to confirm their consent to third-party marketing. To reach this option in the event designer, under the Event column press Modify, then select the Advanced Settings tab.

Terms and Conditions


This section includes a checkbox and if selected a text box will appear for validation. Check the box to enter any event-specific terms and conditions. Include information like exchange or refund procedure, age restrictions and liability information. Customers will need to accept these terms and conditions before purchasing tickets and will appear on their e-tickets. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the Event column press Modify, then select the Advanced Settings tab.

Additional Information about the Event


This section includes a checkbox and if selected a text box will appear for validation. Check the box to enter any additional information about the event. Include any parking information or arrival times. This information is not displayed until after the customer has completed their booking, and will appear on their e-tickets. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the Event column press Modify, then select the Advanced Settings tab.

Ask your Customers Questions


This section comprises of text boxes and dropdowns. If there are questions which are relevant to the event or its attendee's, this is where they can be added. These can be required or not, and responses can be either Yes/No answers, Multiple Choice or Open Ended. These questions appear before the customer completes the booking. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the Event column press Modify, then select the Questionnaire Settings tab.

Event Poster and Thumbnail



Upload a poster and a thumbnail image to your event. Customers will see this before they book and as they search for the event. Images must not be larger than 500kb, should be scaled to a width of 200 / 80 pixels and be either a JPEG, PNG or GIF. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the Event column press Modify, then select the Banner Settings tab.

Add E-Ticket Header and Footer


Upload a header and footer image to event e-tickets. Suggested ideas include a company logo, contact information or an image of the event. This option is not required. To reach this option in the event designer, under the Event column press Modify, then select the E-Ticket Settings tab.
