So you think you want to be a zoologist? Spend the day at Smithsonian Affiliate, Heritage Farm and see! Our resident zoologist and Wildlife Education Director, Rebekah Perry Franks, will be your host. We will begin our day at 8:00am with feeding and cleaning our entire animal collection. Then you will get to try your hand at a mini research project on our creeks. We will break for lunch then resume with an animal Enclosure Design challenge where you will be tasked to consider all the many elements of a captive animal habitat. Our final project for the day will be a competition to design an educational activity for children to explain a zoological topic of your choice that might actually be used at the Farm! All four of these things: animal care, research, husbandry, and education are important parts of being a zoologist! The camp will finish at 3:00pm.
